Run GDCraft from source
GDCraft is an in-progress Godot 4.7 game written in C#. This guide runs the project from its source repository; it is not a downloadable release guide.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- The Godot 4.7 .NET editor.
- A compatible .NET 8 SDK for the C# project.
- Access to the GDCraft source repository.
Launch
Section titled “Launch”- Clone the source repository and open its
project.godotfile in Godot. - Let Godot import the project and build the C# assembly. The project uses Godot’s Jolt Physics engine setting.
- Run the project with F5 / Run Project. Its configured main scene is
scenes/Main.tscn, which opens the title screen. - Choose Singleplayer to open the world list, then create or load a world.
If the C# build fails, check the Godot editor’s build/output panel and confirm the editor is the .NET edition. The project file targets .NET 8.
Current project limits
Section titled “Current project limits”The title screen currently disables Multiplayer and Online, so this source build is for local single-player use. Gameplay and feature coverage are still evolving. The project status page links the living curriculum and fidelity ledger for current implementation details.
Next: create a first world and review the controls.
